Optionally sync projects across devices using Google Drive

The Service is provided free of charge and may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time.
3. User Accounts and Google Authentication
3.1 No Traditional Account Required
The Word Warrior does not require you to create a traditional account with username and password. Your projects are stored locally in your web browser.
3.2 Optional Google Drive Sync
You may optionally enable Google Drive synchronization to backup and sync your projects across devices. By enabling this feature, you:
Authorize The Word Warrior to access your Google Drive appDataFolder
Agree to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
Understand that your project data will be stored in your personal Google Drive
3.3 Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
Maintaining the security of your Google account credentials
All activity that occurs through your Google account when using the Service

You retain complete ownership of all content you create using The Word Warrior. This includes:
All written text, stories, novels, and creative works

Images you upload
All other content you create or upload
4.2 License You Grant Us
By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to:
Store your content in your browser and/or your Google Drive (if you enable sync)
Display your content back to you within the application
Transmit your content between your browser and Google Drive for synchronization purposes
Important: We do NOT claim any ownership of your content. We do NOT have the right to use, publish, distribute, or monetize your creative work. This license exists solely to enable the Service to function.
4.3 Our Intellectual Property
The Word Warrior application, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not:
Copy, modify, or reverse engineer the application
Remove or alter any copyright notices or branding
Use our trademarks without permission
5. Acceptable Use Policy
5.1 Permitted Uses
You may use The Word Warrior for any lawful writing and creative purposes, including:
Writing novels, short stories, and other creative works
Organizing research and planning projects
Managing multiple writing projects
Personal or commercial writing projects
5.2 Prohibited Uses
You agree NOT to:
Use the Service for any illegal purposes
Store content that violates laws or regulations

Violates export control or sanctions laws
6. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. Key points:
We do NOT store your creative content on our servers
Your content is stored in your browser and/or your Google Drive
We do NOT read, analyze, or use your content
You are responsible for backing up your work
7. Data Loss and Backups
⚠️ IMPORTANT - READ CAREFULLY:
Browser-based storage is NOT permanent. Your locally stored projects can be lost if you:
Clear your browser cache or cookies
Uninstall your web browser
Reset your device to factory settings
Use private/incognito browsing mode
Experience browser crashes or corruption
YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR BACKING UP YOUR WORK.
We strongly recommend enabling Google Drive sync to protect your projects. Even with Google Drive sync enabled, we recommend maintaining additional backups of important work.
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DATA LOSS, regardless of the cause.
8. Service Availability
8.1 No Uptime Guarantee
While we strive to keep The Word Warrior available and functional, we do NOT guarantee:
Uninterrupted access to the Service
Error-free operation
Availability at any specific time
Compatibility with all browsers or devices
8.2 Maintenance and Updates
We may:
Perform maintenance that temporarily interrupts the Service
Update or modify features
Add or remove functionality
Discontinue the Service entirely (with reasonable notice if possible)
8.3 Third-Party Dependencies
The Service relies on third-party services (Google Drive, Netlify, etc.). We are not responsible for outages or issues caused by these third parties.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
9.1 "AS-IS" Service
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS-IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

Access your Google Drive appDataFolder: This is a special, hidden folder that only The Word Warrior can access. Your files are NOT visible in your regular Google Drive folders.
Store and retrieve your project data: We save your projects as JSON files in this private folder to enable cross-device synchronization.
What we do with this access:
Save your project files to your Google Drive for backup and sync
Load your projects when you access The Word Warrior from different devices
Delete projects from your Drive when you delete them in the app
What we do NOT do:
Access any other files or folders in your Google Drive
Read, analyze, or process your writing content
Share your Google Drive data with third parties
Use your content for any purpose other than providing the Service to you
2.3 Analytics and Usage Data
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our application. This includes:

Browser type and device information
General location (country/city level, not precise GPS)

Important: Google Analytics does NOT collect or have access to your writing content, project titles, or any personally identifying information beyond standard web analytics data.

Access: All your data is stored locally in your browser and/or your Google Drive

You can clear all locally stored data by:
Using your browser's "Clear browsing data" feature
Deleting projects individually within the app
Warning: Clearing browser data without having Google Drive sync enabled will result in permanent data loss.
7. Children's Privacy
The Word Warrior is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
8. International Users
The Word Warrior is hosted on Netlify's global CDN and may be accessed from anywhere in the world. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information (limited to what's described in this policy) to countries where our service providers operate.
Your Google Drive data is stored in Google's infrastructure according to your Google account settings and Google's data residency policies.
